NPR wants your questions about money
Who will pay the bills while I’m in prison? What’s going to happen to my home? Will my debts lead me to more trouble? It’s only natural to have concerns about money when you’re in prison. But who can you turn to if you’re worried about finance? Yes, the correct answer is: National Prison Radio!
Starting later in September, we’re kicking off a brand-new feature in Porridge called Money Mondays. Each Monday, Zak from ‘Life after Prison’ will be joined by National Prison Radio’s resident finance expert Emma. When she’s not appearing on NPR, Emma works for the employment and training organisation Clean Slate, where she runs a money skills project called ‘Quids In!’
Emma has a wealth of experience working with people who’ve been to prison and are concerned about how to manage their various money issues. So if you’re worried about how your family are going to make ends meet while you’re in prison, or after release – or if you feel like things are becoming hopeless – we want to hear from you.
