9 month-old baby refused visit
My Granddaughter’s partner and 9 month-old baby drove through treacherous conditions on the 27th of Dec from Kent to get to Preston to stay at her Aunts overnight, and went to see her father on the 28th at HMP Preston. Not realizing she needed ID for the baby, which on her previous visit she was not asked for, the prison declined letting the baby go through, and her partner had to cope for nearly 3 hours with a teething baby in the car while granddaughter went in to visit her father. The first time my daughter and I visited my son she had forgotten her ID but they said she could go through just this once but yet turned a 9 month-old baby away. I know of this officer who refused the baby a visit and he thinks he is a law unto himself with a big chip on his shoulder. After visits on our way out many are disabled and he keeps us standing packed like sardines till (he) is ready to open the gate, with a smirk on his face.
I have written a complaint about this incident to the Minister for Justice and am awaiting the outcome.

I have been there and it’s common knowledge that EVERYONE needs I.D. Phil your probably nothing but a bitter, lonely offender who thinks it’s him against the world. I maintained family ties good and well thank you and I served almost 2 years 🙂
I quite like Steven B’s comments, I mostly agree with him. I find they actually help me to stay determined and to find a way to stay string and maintain contact with my partner and make sure that this piece of s system doesn’t win out and ruin my relationship.
steven stop saying steve battram talks rubbish he talks the truth have you been there beacuse i bloody have and he s right so SHUT IT YOU PRAT
Lol hilarious and yer they are nazis i agree
Steven Battram stop chatting rubbish. I see you all the time commenting on everything with utter crap. It’s prison regulation to check all visitors I.D.
And is it not prison regulation to help and enable prisoners to maintain ties with families?
My husband has been in for over a week now and yet I’m still waiting for scurty to call me to clear my number and my kids need to talk to their dad why are they takeing so long
Why does this not surprise me. He probably thought the baby may have previous convictions. The main thing for a prisoner to (rehabilitate) is to maintain family ties. It’s idiots like this that think because one of your family has broken the law that all your family must be criminals too. And the P.O.A wonder why staff are attacked. Im afraid HMP preston isn’t alone in having it’s handful of jobsworth’s.
The primary objective of Her Majesty’s Hate Factories is to destroy family ties and create bitter, resentful recidivists. It is a common practice for the Nazis-like screw on duty in the visitors reception to check all papers scrupulously, if there is the slightest thing wrong with the papers, the Nazi-like screw will refuse the visit. The POA must get their training for checking papers from the Nazis. The Nazis-like screw will boast to his Nazis-like colleagues how he stopped a father from having a visit from his new baby. This will please all Nazis-like screws, they know, destroy a family and create a recidivist – the life-blood of the POA.
Why am I not surprised? They don’t give a hoot about families or children. Prison officers are some of the most heartless creatures that I have come across.
What a shame …
