Bickering politicians let us all down

Gone are the days of structure and rehabilitative consistency in the prison system. They have been replaced with a nigh-on-endless plethora of blame from the inconsistent state of political affairs now upon us all nationwide. Not just within the prison estate either, but across the totality of our once-great nation. All the rival political parties hash out non-stop inanities every week, like petulant children in that proverbial playground, the Houses of Parliament.

The blame game plays out like a soap opera each week for the entire nation and beyond to observe. Broadcasting to every international foe of ours that Britain is broken and weak, just a shambles. These politicians are spokespeople for each and every one of us, elected by the people for the people, to allegedly promote our strengths as world leaders, yet they make us all look like petty and unintelligent nincompoops internationally. Bickering and blaming history rather than just accepting what is broken.

Formulate a realistic plan of action to remedy what is broken, and get on with fixing it. Simple. These elected politicians from all parties are supposed to represent the best of Britain’s educated elite. Most of them are graduates from the likes of Oxford and Cambridge, prestigious global centres of excellence with regards to higher education, and the best of this mixed political bunch are behaving like petulant and tempestuous children.

And whilst all this insane buffoonery is constantly taking place, the great British public is suffering and is being humiliated on the global stage. Spin doctor upon spin doctor, spewing contradictions, blame and excuses into the digital world in weekly televised dispatch box shows of pure nonsense.

We have been left wide open, giving out so much of our vulnerabilities that super-smart foes have created algorithms via artificial intelligence to target every emotional vulnerability emitted via our politicians with no positive end in sight.

This is what an elite education has reduced us to. I’m glad I never achieved one myself. I wouldn’t want to dilute my inner realist and common sense that way. And it says a lot when it takes an incarcerated criminal to point out this national SNAFU.
