Woman officer told prisoner “I’m literally praying to have your babies”
A 27-year-old woman officer from HMP Lindholme has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, after what a judge at Sheffield Crown Court said was “the worst case” of a relationship between an officer and an inmate that he had ever seen.
Judge Jeremy Richardson had heard evidence of the liaison between the woman and her 30-year-old lover. She had told the man she was “literally praying to have your babies” during a three-year affair. She smuggled a phone in to him and they exchanged texts and photos, and called Mondays their “date nights”. CCTV showed them touching and sneaking into rooms during their time at the prison together.
She had smuggled in other items during the time they were together, and the prisoner had been found with cannabis, the phone, and a USB stick.
Judge Richardson told the man he had corrupted the officer, and sentenced him to an additional 13 months. Both pleaded guilty to all charges.

Corrupted, but gets 30 months, –
A man 13, is in the dumps.
But look, – let’s echo to the sky
A baby! Makes our paper fly !
As if a baby were some shame,
Sure none of us, were born the same !
Let’s squelch that sinner in the mud,
And send a thrill through all our blood.
