Jumping through the hoops

When I came to prison Miss,

You told me what to do, 

You said, “Focus on the hoops mate,”

“Jump – up and right on through.”

So, I’m jumping through the hoops Miss,

I’m doing all you say,

I’m jumping high and right on through,

Each and every day.

You see, I’ve spent a lifetime jumping things, 

Traffic lights, queues and so,

Now I’m jumping in a different way,

I’ve found a better way to go.

At first, I jumped through the loops easily,

But then you raised the bar,

You raised it so much higher Miss,

So much higher by far.

So, I put a lot of effort in,

And really raised my game,

Lessons I learnt so that I could then

Jump higher without any pain.

Yes, the journey hasn’t been easy,

And I went through plenty of sorrow,

But I’m jumping even higher today,

And it’ll be even higher tomorrow.

I’m jumping through the hoops miss,

And I’m giving it my very best,

So please don’t jump down my throat miss

If one hoop I ever miss.

I quickly jumped at the chance, 

For a much, much happier life,

And I’m jumping through the hoops Miss,

For a future without strife.

I’m jumping, jumping, jumping, 

I’m jumping through the hoops,

With springs tied to my boots.

I’m doing loop-the-loop,

And feeling cock-a-hoop.

Yes, I’m feeling cook-a-hoop Miss,

And I’ve processed every word,

No hoop is too high for me now, 

I’m feeling most assured.

I’m wiser and feeling confident.

The hoops have set me free,

I’m jumping through the highest hoops,

So, the last laugh is with me.

I’m still jumping through the hoops, 

And my goals are set so high,

I want to jump a little bit higher though, 

And then I’ll be able to fly.

Yes, I’m jumping through every hoop,

And I’m jumping much higher of late,

And if I can jump any higher Miss,

I’m going straight out over the gate!
